  • Why You Cannot Be A Professional Video Game Tester - The 5 Reasons

Paid beta game testing isn't really that challenging. In truth, you could even go so far as to say it's an easy job that does not call for a great deal of hard work. All you've got to do is turn the game on, play through it as you usually would, record the game's bugs & glitches, and then collect your paycheck after you are all done. Seriously, does this seem like a tough job to you? I doubt it!

You Should Not Apply For Video Game Tester Jobs If...

    - You don't have at least five years of video game experience. To be honest, you won't need to be considered a video game legend that has beaten every single game on the market. However, you do need to have basic knowledge of the video gaming industry and how video game design works. The more experience and knowledge you have, the better off you will be with regards to finding game tester jobs.

    - You aren't at least 18 years of age. Some game developers have been known to employ (with restrictions) gamers who are sixteen years of age. However, this is generally a rare event in the arena of paid beta game testing.

    - You don't have a next-gen game console and/or a high-end gaming computer. Possessing both is better, but one or the other should do. If you're not current with the latest gaming technology, you don't of getting a video game tester job.

    - You don't have a beta game tester resume. No resume means no consideration of any sort, plain & simple. Being a beta game tester means performing actual work which MUST BE taken seriously. It is not a hobby you do for fun on Saturday -- it's a ACTUAL job.

    - You've inferior writing and grammar skills. Game testers fill out countless reports & forms which are used by video game engineers to fix & improve games. If the reports are not well detailed and quickly comprehended, the software engineers can not do their job. If a programmer is unable to do his job, it generally means the tester has failed to do his.

If the 5 elements listed above are not an obstacle for you, then you're indeed a candidate for professional beta game testing. All that is remaining to do is to start hunting for video game tester jobs online -- and if you already know where to look, then it's not going to take you more than a week or two!
